I love sticks, stones & bones. Things SPARKLY. I love making witchy stuff.
In addition to 12 years of education in Art and Design, I have professional experience working on productions for entertainment companies such as Disney, Universal, Cirque du Soleil and many others. I am a designer, costumer, master dyer, prop-maker and puppet-maker. I am fortunate in that I discovered a way to bring together my education, professional experience and artistic calling. I started making ritual tools for my own personal use, never thinking that others might appreciate them as well.
My creative process is very organic and no two ritual tools are ever the same. I spend hours searching for the best crystals and supplies. I walk miles to gather the best driftwood. And that is before I even get to the actual creation of a wand, fan, staff or headdress.
I pursue each piece I create as a spiritual and artistic expression. I literally create artwork "as the spirit moves me." Each wand is completely unique and truly one-of-a-kind. The wood I use is driftwood that has been gathered along the shore of a great river. This river is relatively natural and undeveloped. It is not unusual to see bald eagles, ospreys, red-tail hawks, barn owls, deer, elk, coyotes, and yes, even an occasional cougar! It is in this amazing environment in which I gather items for ritual ware. I give before I take and a faerie offering is always left for the wood I gather.
Often it has been floating on the river for a long time and distance, thereby making exact identification of the type of wood very challenging. Therefore, I prefer not to guess. Instead I like to think that the right wand "calls" to you and you will know if it is the right "fit."
When I create ritual tools, it is a completely intuitive undertaking. I do not impose any predetermined ideas on what crystals will be used, but allow the crystals to choose the wand. The same could be said for the adornment phase...I allow the creative energy to flow and often remain in a meditative state while working.
Once the wands are adorned, painted and clear-coated, each crystal is then dipped into water gifted from the Chalice Well, one of Britain’s most ancient wells, nestled in the Vale of Avalon between the famous Glastonbury Tor and Chalice Hill. A final smudging will be performed before each wand is lovingly wrapped for shipping. I leave any further charging or blessing ritual to the person who has adopted their wand.
I am a one woman operation. I make, photograph, post, list, market, pack and ship each item in my store. I am dedicated to designing and creating top quality items that will last many years if treated properly. All fabrics, materials, and construction techniques are high quality, first grade and durable.
